Southern Mongolia

The famous Gobi desert of Mongolia is located within the southern region of Mongolia. Which stretches 4800 kilometers along the southern border of the country and extends to parts of the northwestern, running in between Altai and Khangai mountain ranges as well as towards the southeast the Chinese borders. 

The provinces of Umnugobi, Dundgobi, Dornogobi, Bayankhongor and Gobi-Altai are  included in these territories. The Gobi has over 33 variations depending on their location, surface area and landscape. The Gobi desert covers almost 33 percent of the country. Gobi desert is also known for its fossilized dinosaur skeletal remains and eggs. Paleontologists all over the world visit the Gobi desert.
